2019年6月26日，佛蒙特国际学校（Vermont International Academy，以下简称VIA）以293.59的高分成功通过AdvancED的系统认证，成为全球第五个获得AdvancED系统认证的国际教育集团。

        Vermont International Academy (VIA) is excited to announce that it has successfully earned system accreditation from AdvancED(with the score 293.59), the world’s largest accreditation agency on 26 June 2019.

        这对我校国际部中美班VIA的学子来说，是十分振奋人心的消息，因为AdvancED是世界上最大的认证机构，更是教育集团和学校的黄金质量标杆。

        The final score from the review team proves that VIA is well above the global standard as well as provides quality education and experiences for its students. It is an exhilarating news for our students and parents.

AdvancED作为一个非营利独立教育认证机构，集合了全球教育专家对各类教育机构和系统进行严格的现场审查，来确保机构或系统具备帮助学生充分发挥其潜力的能力。AdvancED成立于2006年，由北中央协会认证、学校改进委员会（NCA CASI）及南部学院、学校协会认证和学校改进委员会（SACS CASI）的Pre-K-12部门合并而成，又于2012年增加了西北认证委员会（NWAC）进行扩展。

        It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site reviews of a variety of educational institutions and systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. AdvancED serves over 36,000 educational institutions — employing more than four million educators and enrolling more than 20 million students — across the United States and 70 other nations. AdvancED was formed through a 2006 merger of the Pre-K-12 divisions of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) — and expanded through the addition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) in 2012.

        While its expertise is grounded in more than a hundred years of work in school accreditation, AdvancED is far from a typical accrediting agency. Its goal isn't to certify that educational institutions are good enough. Rather, its commitment is to help the institutions continuously improve. 2019年年初，我校中美班团队开始筹备申请系统认证，进一步用国际化标准规范校区运作，提升自身教育教学品质，中美班管理部门和师资队伍同心协力、通力合作，竭尽所能完备各类现代化教学支持资源。

        At the beginning of 2019, we make a lot of effort to prepare for the accreditation, aiming to standardize our school system as well as enhance our teaching quality.  With concerted and sustained efforts by administrative team and teachers, we try our best to fit in the accreditation standard.

此次AdvancED系统审核了VIA各校区的运营和教育教学现状，并对VIA总部如何监管校区质量体系流程进行了仔细的审查，通过大量的数据和资料来分析其有效性和持续发展性。VIA完善的中美融合课程和科学的学术管控体系有效地保证了其国际化教育教学质量和管理水平，也为最终获得系统认证打下了坚实的基础。

        This review observed the campus and teaching status of VIA, and examined the ISO process of how to ensure the quality of each VIA campus. With the refined curriculum design and systematic academic management, we are well prepared for the accreditation. 

        在认证过程中，VIA总部和各校区需要展示自身对不断改进教学管理质量的高度承诺、卓越的领导才能、突出的教学水平、以及优秀的资源驾驭能力。在此期间，我校中美班团队向专家评审团提供了大量的数据证据和佐证资料，此外，评审团也对总部员工和各校区的领导、教职工、学生以及家长进行了面对面详细的采访，并采取随机进教室听课的方式来评估校区的教学质量。

        To earn corporate accreditation for our schools, VIA had to demonstrate quality leadership, learning, and resource management for the system and its schools along with proof of compliance to international assurances to a team of professionals that reviewed evidence and conducted interviews of headquarters staff and campus leadership, teachers, students, and parents. The team observed teaching and learning on all VIA campuses too.

 VIA集团首席学术官Greg Robbins表示：“我们很高兴AdvancED委员会高度认可了VIA的教学系统，并以293.59的高分通过了此次认证。这一分数远远超过去五年里AdvancED认证机构的平均得分（范围）278.34 -- 283.33，这也是参与认证的集团或学校系统里获最高分的。这不仅是对VIA成立以来办学成果的肯定，也是对VIA未来不断发展和完善的极大鼓励。” 

        Our academic supervisor Dr. Greg Robbins mentioned, “The accreditation score of 293.59 surpasses the average (range) of all institutions evaluated for accreditation in the last five years, which is 278.34 - 283.33, indicating that VIA is already excellent and prepared for even better things in the future.”

        通过AdvancED系统认证意味着什么？

此次我校顺利通过AdvancED系统认证，将极大地帮助中美班的师生群体更优质地规划未来的学习和工作方向，同时意味着我校中美班的办学标准和办学质量将被更多英语国家的一流高等院校认可，意味着我校中美班学子获得的美国学校毕业证书将更具公信力，学生在申请大学时将会更受青睐和更具竞争力。

        All of the members of the VIA community --- students, parents and faculty --- will be benefit from the result as colleges and universities in English-speaking countries have recognized assurance that VIA schools provide quality education and experiences for its students. Moreover, accreditation by AdvancED means that VIA students earn an authentic American diploma rather than a partner school diploma which helps students when applying for university.
